Raiffeisen-Leasing BOT s.r.o.

MIGA issued a $4.9 million guarantee to Raiffeisen-Leasing Gmbh of Austria for its € 5.4 million non shareholder loan to Raiffeisen Leasing BOT s.r.o in the Czech Republic. The coverage is for a period of twenty years and is against the risks of Transfer Restriction and Breach of Contract. The project involves the improvement of street lighting to reduce energy consumption. It will also improve public safety in the municipality and enhance the townscape to promote tourism and industrial development. The build-lease-operate-transfer structure will include the modernization of the entire public street lighting system over a period of six years and operation for a period of twenty years.

In addition to savings in energy consumption, the project has positive economic development effects for the host country. Fifty people will be employed in design and construction, create 16 direct jobs, and generate 50 additional jobs through local suppliers of goods and services.
