MIGA issued a $29.7 million guarantee to cover a shareholder loan from Lloyds Bank, Plc, for an investment in its subsidiary in Brazil. The guarantee provides coverage against the risks of transfer restriction and expropriation.

The loan will expand the wholesale banking activities of Lloyds Bank Plc (Brazil), and increase the availability of medium-term loans to a variety of economic sectors in Brazil, especially infrastructure and industrial sectors, which currently suffer from an acute shortage of medium-term financing.
