Washington, May 20, 2014 – Michel Wormser, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA)—the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group—arrives tomorrow for a three-day trip to Namibia. Wormser’s visit marks MIGA’s first high-level visit to the country.
The aim of Wormser’s visit is to identify areas where MIGA can help the country mobilize capital for important infrastructure projects—including those in the energy and transport sectors—and other job-creating enterprises to meet its development goals. During his visit, Wormser will meet with government ministries, state-owned enterprises, and commercial banks.
“The purpose of my trip is to identify priority areas where MIGA can help Namibia leverage investments to meet its development goals,” said Wormser.
