Michel Wormser Joins MIGA as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

WASHINGTON, DC, October 11, 2011—The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group, announced today Michel Wormser has joined its senior management team. Wormser will serve as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Wormser, a French national, joined the World Bank Group in 1978 and has served in a range of capacities across the organization. Prior to joining MIGA, he served as Director of Operations and Strategy in the Bank’s Africa region. From 2001 to 2003, he was Director of the World Bank’s Guarantee Program.  From 1997 to 2000, Wormser left the Bank to work at Société Générale in Paris as Director in its Project Finance Department, where he led advisory services and financing of energy projects in emerging markets.

In his new role, Wormser will focus on implementing MIGA’s development strategy, and enhancing synergies and increasing collaboration across the World Bank Group.
