Head of MIGA Recognized For Building a Leadership Bridge across the Pacific

Izumi Kobayashi, MIGA’s Executive Vice President, has received the inaugural Bridge Builders Recognition award from the Global Organization for Leadership and Development (GOLD).  GOLD develops programs to bring together current and future women leaders from Japan and the U.S.

Through this award, the organization recognized Ms. Kobayashi for her efforts at building a leadership bridge across the Pacific.

“The challenges of the 21st century demand extraordinary leaders. Despite gains in leadership diversity, women remain perhaps the world’s most underutilized resource,” says Hiroko Tatebe, GOLD’s founder and Executive Director. “We selected Ms. Kobayashi because of her history of leadership in diversity and women’s initiatives.  She has been an ongoing driving force for business women both in Japan and the United States.“

Before joining MIGA in November, 2008 Ms. Kobayashi was President and Representative Director of Merrill Lynch in Tokyo.
